Hailing from Highland Park and Long Valley, NJ, The Knockabouts are an acoustic duet that mix musical favorites with some less familiar songs, and a few tunes that would not normally be thought of as "acoustic."
Cherie’s welcoming smile and sweet voice draw listeners in, while George’s rock-tinged acoustic flavorings keep the pulse moving along. The pair provide a perfect blend of entertaining music without being too "over the top".
Cherie has done it all vocally – from children’s entertainment, to a member of a jazz quartet, to fronting a classic rock band. When you see Cherie singing, her love of music shines through in her smile. Cherie also plays bass, and does a great job holding down the bottom end. The flexibility of the acoustic duet allows her to retain a sweet and earthy sound while indulging her eclectic taste in music.
George has been "knocking about" the New Jersey music scene for quite a while, having been involved in lots of musical projects – from original rock to cover bands to acoustic duets to solo classical. George has many years of performing experience and, more importantly, he knows how to work the knobs on the PA!
